I don’t watch much TV. Maybe it’s a window into my personality, but TV requires a commitment, even with DVR, that a 90 to 120 minute movie theater viewing does not. Plus, excluding some cable TV shows, most of the drama on the boob tube is sub-par storytelling and bland acting, at best. I realize movies don’t always knock it out of the park, but like a one-night-stand, at least I can sneak out of bed and not feel obligated to call ever again.

Still, there are a few gems on television. The Walking Dead has been pretty decent, I usually catch 90% of Utah Jazz basketball, and I can’t ever get enough Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives, Man v. Food and, the reason for this post – Family Guy. Sure, sure, I know – how could I possibly enjoy a profane, irreverent cartoon?! Don’t I have any care or concern for the delicate minds of kids who might watch Family Guy? Sure, I suppose I do, but like The Simpsons, sometimes truth and wisdom are best learned from a robust, spot-on, humorous slap to the face. Just ask Archie Bunker.
