Despite my Kiss Kiss Bang Bang, Zodiac, Iron Man and Tropic Thunder love for Robert Downey Jr., as well as an awkward fondness for Jude Law and his crazy hairline, the predecessor for Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows, 2009’s Sherlock Holmes, didn’t meet my entertainment litmus test, which means I was lukewarm in my initial viewing, fell asleep in the second and have not watched the movie since, nor do I have plans to pop in the Blu-ray anytime …

I’ll be honest, I had zero desire to see Repo Men early on its marketing, but after some slick TV spots and this director’s cut red band trailer, my curiosity is certainly piqued and I’m actually looking forward to attending the screening this evening. Plus, the cast – Jude Law (Sherlock Holmes), Forest Whitaker (The Last King of Scotland), Liev Schrieber (X-Men Origins: Wolverine) and Alice Braga (Blindness) – isn’t what I would call the C-list variety. These are bona …
Robert Downey Jr. has become a force of nature. Once just a great actor, the dude has seen his career resuscitated into the open arms of an adoring public who now sees him as their cinematic best friend to giddily bury under spade fulls of lavish praise. If there’s any doubt Downey Jr.’s charm and dynamism will single-handedly open Sherlock Holmes to fat gobs of cash while allowing director Guy Ritchie a leg up and out of his London Gangster …

A second trailer US trailer was released today and, even though not really showing us anything that new, it merely confirms to me that which I already assume: This movie is pure win. How can it not be? Guy Ritchie’s style …
This is the International Trailer for Guy Ritchie’s new movie, “Sherlock Holmes,” due in theaters on Christmas Day. As you probably know, it stars Robert Downey Jr., Jude Law and the lovely Rachel McAdams. As you watch the trailer you’ll probably recognize a few other Ritchie regulars, including Mark Strong (“RocknRolla,” “Body of Lies,” “Stardust”). I think the trailer is enough mix of substance and tease to make this a surefire hit come December 25th. I can also say, being …
The Robert Downey Jr. lovefest has been in full swing since last year’s “Iron Man” and “Tropic Thunder,” and deservedly so. Downey Jr. has a natural charisma and fantastic acting chops that his drugged out years of disillusionment never stopped. Based on what I’ve seen in this “Sherlock Holmes” trailer, I have to say to both Downey Jr. and Guy Ritchie, “Bravo, sir.” This looks absolutely fantastic.
