Summer 2012 is going to be big, perhaps one for the ages, and it all started with a pretty decent spring lineup of movies with 21 Jump Street, The Hunger Games, Cabin in the Woods and The Five-Year Engagement leading the charge. Now we have The Avengers laying waste at the box office with nearly $500 million (in only three weeks) and movies like Men in Black 3 and Snow White & The Huntsman queued up and ready to partake of the cold hard cash theatergoers are ready to toss at the big screen for two-hours of escape.
And that, a folks, is just one month of Summer 2012.

Yes, I put that all in caps to emphasize how absolutely effing excited I am for Ridley Scott’s prequel to his 1979 sci-fi horror classic, Alien. When I first read about Scott’s decision to return to outer space and to do a prequel, I chalked it up to Hollywood’s seemingly creative bankruptcy, but shame on me, because after seeing an eclectic cast of actual actors (Charlize Theron, Michael Fassbender, Noomi Rapace, Guy Pearce and Idris Elba) and seeing the first two trailers, this movie has almost eclipsed my ongoing pants-wetting for The Dark Knight Rises. And now this international trailer just has me frothing at the mouth for June 8th.
