Zero Dark Thirty, in a word, looks awesome. The Hurt Locker, Kathryn Bigelow’s last movie, was, in my opinion, a perfect film. This follow-up, a slice of cinematic heaven detailing the decade-long hunt for Osama bin Laden, the mastermind behind 9/11, is assuredly as good, if not better. I’m saying that right now, having only seen the trailer. I trust Bigelow like I trust Christopher Nolan. Like I trust Pixar. Like I don’t trust George Lucas. This movie is going to be on the best picture/best director list for sure. Mark. My. Words.
Zero Dark Thirty hits theaters on December 19, 2012, and stars Jessica Chastain (The Help), Joel Edgerton (Warrior), Chris Pratt (The Five-Year Engagement), James Gandolfini (Killing Them Softly), Mark Strong (Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy), and Edgar RamÃrez (Wrath of the Titans). It was written by Mark Boal (The Hurt Locker) and, as noted earlier, is directed by Kathryn Bigelow.
What do YOU think of the trailer? I smell Oscar and awesome.
