I love Bradley Cooper (The Words) and Jennifer Lawrence (The Hunger Games), but what sold me on this movie (aside from the sweet trailer music by The Lumineers “Ho Hey”), was this line from Bradley Cooper’s character, Pat Solitano, “This is what I believe to be true: You have to do everything you can, and if you stay positive you have a shot at a silver lining.”
How awesome is that statment? Isn’t that what everyone hopes and dreams about? We all make mistakes, we all go down roads and paths we aren’t fond of later and we all hope for something better – a silver lining if you will. It doesn’t mean we don’t love today (that’s the staying positive part), it just means we believe in our dreams and have confidence they’ll be made real.
But I digress.
This movie, Silver Linings Playbook, looks stellar. It’s got a top-notch cast: Robert De Niro, Jacki Weaver, Julie Stiles and even our long, lost Rush Hour friend, Chris Tucker. It’s also directed by David O. Russell, the helmsman behind 2010’s The Fighter, so you know Silver Linings Playbook will be in the Academy Award crosshairs.
Silver Linings Playbook hits cinemas on November 21, 2012. Check out the trailer below and let me know what you think.
