G.I. Joe’s Too Bootylicious For Ya, Babe

So there’s a new poster for the upcoming all-odds-are-on-awful G.I. Joe: Rise of Cobra that opens in August. It prominently features the lower anterior money-maker for Sienna Miller (aka The Baroness), two cordless Black and Decker Do-it-Herself drills, icy-hot Photoshop effects and some good and bad guys, too. It also features an ode to Baroness Booty tagline: Evil Never Looked So Good. In other news, Chewbacca’s bowcaster was reported as stolen. Scarlett had no reply at the time of this

Trailer Tuesday? Make That New Moon Tuesday!

There’s nothing more to be said about Twilight: New Moon. It’s coming up super-fast, women get all swooney at the thought of it and guys wonder why because vampires are dumb. There’s nothing much to say about the poster, either. It’s the one the Twihards have been waiting for– a beefy and defensive Jacob, a “morose is the new black” Bella and a pouty, slouchy Edward– all ready to adorn your wall, desktop wallpaper or both.

Lusting After a Mann and his Enemies

One movie I’m looking forward to this summer is Michael Mann’s “Public Enemies,” starring Johnny Depp, Christian Bale and Marion Cotillar. I understand there is some trepidation from Mann fans given the director’s last outing was the not-so-great “Miami Vice.” I have a hard time believing Michael Mann is capable of dropping two consecutive cinematic bombs, and based on what I’ve seen from the “Public Enemies” trailer, it’s going to be chock full of gangstery goodness. Shown above are three

Christmas in May

Robert Zemeckis and his motion capture animation. The Polar Express and Beowulf were both dry and stiff experiments in using “actorly animation”* to tell fantastical tales of creepy hobos, jumpin’ hot chocolate guys, a kid with the most annoying voice in the known universe and naked Norsemen and the long-tailed Angelina Jolie yuck-mouths they knock boots with. While both stories had their original mystique, the animatic execution was cold and detached. Zemeckis’ next animation project (remember when he did actual

Yet Another Basterd Revealed!

Quentin Tarantino has released another basterd for your viewing pleasure, no doubt in anticipation of the “Inglourious Basterds” premire this month at the Cannes Film Festival. The basterd on this poster is Til Schweiger, who plays a Sgt. Hugo Stiglitz, a German-born psychopathic member of Pitt’s Nazi killing brigade.

New Movie Poster- It’s Summer, Give Us a Break

Here at AATM, we’re beholden to studio marketing departments and the new, pretty stuff they push out. There’s an unwritten agreement, in fact. You make a new movie poster, we’ll put it up. New trailer? Where do we sign! Ok, while it might seem that way sometimes (DISTRICT 9 -cough-cough), we’re really not as easily pushed over as it may seem. Just keep in mind– it’s summer. It’s boy movie season. We’ll cover all the other interesting films and announcements

The Basterds Just Won’t Stop!

More poster goodness from Quentin Tarantino’s “Inglourious Basterds” today, this time a poster of French actress Mélanie Laurent. According to IMDB.com, Laurent will play Shosanna Dreyfus, a French-Jewish girl whose family is murdered by the Nazis. Shosanna escapes and operates a movie theater in Paris. Click the poster to see a bigger version.

Everyone’s a Basterd

It’s a new Inglorious Basterds character poster, this time with some feminine mystique… …and by mystique I mean Diane Kruger’s wooden acting (Troy!) and bad English accent (National Treasures!). Luckily, she can stick to her native German in this one as she spies for the allies in her role as Bridget Von Hammersmark– a Nazi fan-favorite actress. Apparently, the Nazis tastes in actresses was as bad as their politics. I have a feeling we’ll be posting a few more of

I Pimped The Hurt Locker Once and I’ll Do it Again, Thank You

The headline about sums it up. I’m turning into a shill. One of my most anticipated summer films is The Hurt Locker. Between my pimping on KVNU and here at AATM, I’m sold on the idea that while The Hurt Locker is a summer film flying under the radar, it shouldn’t be. The new poster features an image taken wholesale from an “Oh, ****” action beat in the film, but it’s the screaming quotes along the top that should have
