Happy Holidays from Andy at The Movies.com!

It’s going to be quiet around here for the next few days, and rightfully so – it’s freakin’ Christmas and it’s time to share special moments with the ones we love. We’ll be back with some year-end best/worst lists next week, and check later tonight for a review of Sherlock Holmes. But most of all, have a the hap hap happiest Christmas since Fred Astaire danced with Danny F***ing Kaye!

Ryan Bingham Sings The Weary Kind from Crazy Heart

Crazy Heart is in limited release so I’ve been forbidden to post my review yet, but I will say this – it is definitely one of the year’s best films. It’s like a kinder, gentler, blue-sky version of last year’s The Wrestler. One of the film’s strengths is the soundtrack, especially the song “The Weary Kind.” Jeff Bridges, Robert Duvall and Collin Farrell all sing on the soundtrack, due out on January 19th, 2010. Ryan Bingham co-wrote the song with

A Five Second Ode to Mr. Clint Eastwood

Invictus did a modest haul this weekend, coming in third after Princess and the Frog and the increasingly aged The Blind Side. In modest recognition of such a modest return, we’re honoring our favorite gruff, weathered and high-waisted pant-wearer/director. Thanks to our favorite Las Vegan reader SKG, who sent us (via the comments) the following send up of Eastwood’s multiple 2005 Oscar Winner  Million Dollar Baby in five seconds. We thought we’d post it front and center in case anyone

Flopsided: The Decade’s Biggest Box Office Failures

Admit it. You’ve got a mean streak: at some point or another, you’ve relished seeing at least one movie take a thunder-clapping, open-chested and loin-smashing belly flop into the pool of public opinion. Relive those glorious moments thanks to Hollywood Reporter’s Flops of the Decade. You won’t be in for many surprises but oh, the putrid memories. I fondly recall my cementation of loathing for John Travolta with Battlefield Earth. My head hanging shame for finding mild enjoyment amid the

Happy Turkey Day: Andy’s Thanksgiving Entertainment Thank You

Happy Thanksgiving to all the readers of AATM.com! Here are a few things I’m thankful for by way of entertainment this holiday season. How about you? What has the movies, TV, books or video games given you that makes you feel thankful in 2009? Blu-ray You know Blu-ray is dreamy and awe-inspiring when everything, including movies without special effects and explosions, look absolutely magnificent in the crisp, clear, vibrant goodness that is 1080p. I was reminded of this when I

Dear Kristen Stewart: This is Not a Good Look for You

They say when two people are in love they start to take on the other’s characteristics and, some say, physical characteristics. Yeah, well, that must be the case here, because Kristen Stewart is channeling Robert Pattinson’s Edward Cullen in this picture from a premiere of The Twilight Saga: New Moon. Oh, and while you’re considering how not cute Kristen is looking in that picture, make sure to remind yourself how hot Ashley Greene is. And now I’m done with AATM’s

Ashley Greene is a Reason for Dudes to See New Moon

Your a dude. You like the ladies. Your girlfriend/wife/significant other wants you to see The Twilight Saga: New Moon, but you can’t think of anything more excruciating. A trip to the dentist for a root canal sounds better. You’d even rather watch reruns of Little House on the Prairie while having uncontrollable diarrhea. Anything but Edward and Bella. Well, fellas, say hi to Ashely Greene. She played Alice Cullen in last year’s Twilight and is reprising the role in The

Happy Birthday Sir Roger Moore!

Yes, the best James Bond ever is 82 today and in his honor, I’m posting Duran Duran’s video for A View to a Kill below.  23 years later and that song is still catchy. Which is good, because the video might possibly make you put a plastic bag over your own head and suffocate yourself. I have fond memories of ol’ Roger Moore suiting up as James Bond. Some might feel a fondness toward Sean Connery’s Bond, and others might
