I can’t add a thing. This Inglorious Basterds poster speaks untold volumes of misspelled truth.

Last Friday, on KVNUs movie show, we briefly discussed this weekend’s big opener Star Trek and it’s universally glowing reviews. Promising stuff. If you’re interested in learning a little more about the writing development behind Star Trek reboot, movie website extraordinaire Ain’t It Cool News has posted an interview where Mr. Beaks (aka- one-time fellow CHUD writer Jeremy Smith– a good guy and a gooder interviewer) talks to Star Trek screenwriters Roberto Orci and Alex Krutzman. They discuss the weight …
If you’re not up to speed on all your Transformers robots, that’s ok. Michael Bay has been real elusive in letting slip who’s in and who’s out for his upcoming Transformers: Revenge of The Fallen. There’s been leaks galore and a trailer to boot, but how can you really know? Well, you can get a better idea thanks to the GB eye LTC. poster company, who are selling Transformers for a bedroom wall near you. For your viewing pleasure, we’ve …
If you tuned into KVNU’s “Andy at the Movies” segment yesterday, you got to hear Mr. Dan Vinton go all Anakin Skywalker on Quentin Tarantino’s new late summer release, “Inglourious Basterds.” Dan says it’s a must miss, I wholeheartedly disagree. I think the movie looks fresh, original and darkly funny – all elements that have made Tarantino’s previous work golden. But I digress. Really, all I wanted to show you were three new-ish posters I stumbled upon this morning on …
Somewhere down the line, Chronicles of Riddick is going to appear in the Showcase of Shame. It’s assured. Destined, even. I’m a fan of the film not only for its ambition, but for the sheer world and universe creation unfolded in its (highly cut) two hours. I know there’s some rhetorical punching due my face for saying that, and while I’ll admit it’s certainly not perfect, the more I see it, the more I appreciate it.
On Friday’s AATM show on KVNU, we received a call asking about the insanely anticipated Quentin Tarantino film that will have non-cussers in a real pickle when trying to name the title. No, it’s not Inglorious Bast…ages. It’s Inglorious Basterds (that’s not a misspell). Eli Roth, man about town and gore/torture porn purveyor extraordinaire (Cabin Fever, Hostel, Hostel 2) has been speaking mightily about the film in recent weeks. He has a starring role, as a Jewish GI who loves …
Holy Moly! It’s like Christmas morn! Of course, that’s only if your Christmas morn consists of opening a huge, brightly wrapped package from 20th Century Fox and pulling out a single slip of paper that reads, “Rain Check…Maybe”. For the genre geek fans– there’s some interesting “news” (and by news I mean more like hints and stuff you may already know, just in different sentences) coming out of IESB and a red carpet interview they did with Tom Rothman, the …
Since we’re in the era of the reboot (Star Trek, James Bond, Friday the 13th), why not get to rebooting some Predator— the quintessential high point of 80’s blow-em-up and a particularly sweaty menage-a-trois of muscle on guns on alien action. “Why not indeed”, I say. On the whole, I cling to very few action movies of the 80s– too much hair, too many trampolined bodies and never enough wince-worthy one liners. Of course, there’s always exceptions– mine just happens …
About a year ago, Wanted exploded its way through skulls and into the collective hearts of American filmgoers. Based on a comic of the same name, the movie jettisoned the original conceit of a superhero slayer and replaced it with an assassins gone amok storyline. Exceeding expectations, Wanted‘s hyper stylization and flippant violence opened the tap to a shower of love from audiences. While this kid appreciated the creative conceits and imaginative action of Wanted, in the end the only …
For everyone fretting about how the Mormon church has been treated by way of Big Love and Proposition 8 protests, it’s always nice to have a reminder that you’re not the only one who feels picked on. Apparently, advocates of the Catholic Church are steamin’ mad at Ron Howard’s treatment of their religion (i.e- the church has villainous priests) in the forthcoming Angels & Demons. Whenever anyone starts complaining about how a film unfairly portrays a character or group, my …
