We’ve known The Hangover: Part II has been heading to theaters this Memorial Day (May 26, 2011) since Todd Phillips’ The Hangover was a financial and critical success in 2009, but we haven’t, other than casting, been given much and this teaser trailer continues in the same fashion. We know the movie is set in Thailand and it appears Phil (Bradley Cooper), Stu (Ed Helms) and Alan (Zach Galifianakis) are looking for their long lost pal, Doug (Justin Bartha), yet again. We also know, based on casting, that Leslie Chow (Ken Jeong) and Mike Tyson are returning, as well as cameos from Liam Neeson (Unknown) and Paul Giamatti (The Last Station).
I don’t think this teaser is all that great, but The Hangover: Part II is still on my must-see list for 2011. I can’t imagine this tanking, but sequels are always tough, particularly comedy sequels. Sometimes the same jokes carbon copied to a different locale doesn’t sit well with audiences who crave something new and fresh to laugh at. Here’s to hoping Phillips and screenwriter Scott Armstrong knock this out the park.
Check out the trailer after the jump and let me know your thoughts!
